MicroMetric Computer Technician - Level I - Intern

Scope of Responsibility

The Computer Technician Intern is responsible, under direct supervision, for the ongoing support of appropriate information technologies for MicroMetric customers. The Intern reports to the Technician Supervisor, and is supervised and trained on a project basis by a designated individual.

Competence Required

Must be able to learn to troubleshoot and repair information technologies as required to maintain effective use of those technologies for all customers, both at the MicroMetric office and at customer sites;

Must be able to work effectively as part of a team, communicate effectively within the company and with customers and prospects, as required;

Must demonstrate competency in and knowledge of specific technologies as required to fulfill the requirements of this position;

Must be familiar with, or learning, current and emerging information technologies as they relate to the needs of both Small Business and Individual customers; and

Must demonstrate active engagement in ongoing professional development.

Job Specific Components

The Computer Technician Intern will perform such activities as necessary, under supervision, to fulfil the requirements of the position, including, but not limited to:

Installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and repairing computer hardware and drivers, under supervision;

Installing, configuring, and troubleshooting a full range of desktop operating system and application software, under supervision;

Assemble new computer systems from basic components, under supervision;

Installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and repairing networking and connectivity hardware;

Developing and maintaining sufficient knowledge of the information technologies used by MicroMetric and its customers in order to provide quality and timely technical support to the users of those technologies;

Developing and maintaining good customer relationships, by practicing professional standards of conduct;

Acting both pro-actively and reactively to define and resolve technical problems;

Learn to use MICRO, MicroMetric Integrated Customer Report Organization, to track technician time, update customer information, maintain inventory, and generate Sales Invoices;

Report all billable time and parts utilization with MICRO in order to maximize company revenue;

Work environment will be both at the customer’s site and at the MicroMetric office;

Should have reliable transportation, with valid driver license and insurance;

There will be times when work needs to done after business hours; and

Starting salary range for this position will be $6-10 per hour, depending on qualifications.
